Exclusive partnership to develop two vertical storage product lines for clean-room applications
(Valencia, CA : May 19, 2004) FKI Logistex® White Systems (www.whitesystems.com), a leader in designing and building high-throughput, mission-critical automated material storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) for manufacturers and distributors, announces that it has signed an exclusive agreement with SemiNet Automation (www.seminet.com) which will see SemiNet exclusively use White Systems vertical carousels in its SafeGuard and Infinity storage systems.
The SemiNet SafeGuard and Infinity product lines are designed for applications in semiconductor and biotech manufacturing. Both markets require closely controlled clean-room environments with precision levels of contamination control. The sterile movement, handling, and storage of work-in-process in these fields are critical to success. Typical applications for SafeGuard and Infinity systems are the handling and storage of photo masks and wafer pods.
SemiNet's automated robotic interfaces support customers in the clean-room market who require hands-free product movement. The new agreement with SemiNet enhances the White Systems clean-room product line by adding SemiNet's robotic automation interfaces and ultra-clean environmental controls to its vertical and horizontal automated storage offerings.
SemiNet will provide worldwide marketing and sales support for the added feature set that the two companies' combined technologies brings to the high-density storage market.
